Bassalarm Chapeau , what a recording ! Such a lot of Erik and such a lot of -partly hidden- Frank , phenomenal ! Favorite track: Le binocle et le moustachu.

mili1 After about 20 albums and a 40-year career, the guitarist and composer PJ Gaucher undoubtedly released one of his most accomplished albums, with seven seasoned musicians of the french jazz scene. Because of health crisis, this opus has been carefully tweaked for long months. Always very inspired by Frank Zappa, PJ also enters here the impressionist musical world of Erik Satie. 20 ans après son projet « Zappe Zappa" qui reste une référence saluée par la presse et les fans de Frank zappa, Pierrejean Gaucher a eu l’envie de réitérer cette aventure autour de l’univers musical d’Erik Satie. Ce nouvel album marque son retour à l’écriture avec un tout nouveau répertoire, porté par de jeunes et brillants musiciens qui font l’actualité du jazz en France depuis des années (ONJ, Ping Machine, PJ5, Sarab…)

20 years after his project "Zappe Zappa", rewarded by the press and Frank Zappa fans, Pierrejean Gaucher wanted to repeat this adventure around the musical universe of Erik Satie. This new album marks his return to writing with a whole new repertoire, carried by young and brilliant musicians who have been making jazz news in France for years (ONJ, Ping Machine, PJ5, Sarab…)

No one does music quite like Camille and Xavier do. I see their music as being akin to soundtracks for unfilmed movies. In this instance it is a movie about explorers of mountainous terrain, perhaps the terrain of our lives. Merci pour cette musique si intrigante. :-) sumbuk
